MCR Safety differentiates product sales for their distributors using DAM

Now in the fourth quarter of 2020, MCR Safety – a leading a leading manufacturer of personal protective equipment (PPE) across the United States and Europe – is in the process of using the Digizuite DAM to build a transformational sales enablement portal for their roughly 1,500 unique distributors. Once this tool is completed, distributors will have one centralized platform to access exactly the images and information they need to close the sales loop.

“Right now, there is a gap between marketing and sales,” Bret Lipscomb, MCR Safety Manager of Digital Solutions, said. “Once we get this new platform up, with all assets and files being combined with metadata and attributes, we will close the rift so that marketing will be more about sales and sales enablement."

The Collierville, Tennessee-based MCR Safety implemented the Digizuite DAM in 2018. Then, in August 2020 MCR Safety was acquired by Bunzl, the global distribution and outsourcing firm with operations across North America, South Americ, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region. Due to this acquisition, the MCR Safety team sees the development of this sales enablement as an ROI initiative that is more important than ever.

“We didn’t procure Digizuite with the acquisition in mind, but it ended up being great,” Lipscomb said. “It is inevitable that our network will expand, and there will likely be additional ways for us to sell product. Through it all, it will be even more important to have the mechanisms in place for brand compliance and sales enablement.”

Soon after their initial implementation of Digizuite, the MCR team was benefitting from their digital environment’s first ever digital asset management solution, which they currently use to manage more than 30,000 assets.

"It saves everyone time in getting the right information and messaging across,” Lipscomb said. “Everyone using Digizuite has had overwhelmingly positive things to say about it, and it has certainly already helped us achieve shorter times-to-market for all the PPE products that we sell that we sell through a variety of channels.”

With all the developments of this year, MCR Safety’s digital transformation journey is clearly far from over.
